OVCCA, HRDO hold SPMS seminar-workshop

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (OVCCA) and UPLB Human Resources Development Office (HRDO) led a seminar-workshop on Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) on June 23 at the Obdulia F. Sison Hall Conference Hall.

The event aimed to help OVCCA Performance Management Team members and supervisors in accomplishing the SPMS of their respective units. This is part of OVCCA’s efforts in enhancing the review and monitoring of its performance toward the attainment of University goals and objectives.

In his opening remarks, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Roberto P. Cereno motivated the participants to further enhance their work performance and efficiency as part of their service to the University and the public.

“Sana sabihin natin na ang ibinabangon natin sa umaga ay yung serbisyo sa University kasi dun tayo huhugot ng motivation. ‘Pag ganon ang ating motivation sa ating utak at puso, magtatagal tayo sa ating trabaho, mamahalin natin ang ating trabaho araw-araw,” he highlighted.

Vladimir G. Amatorio, Section Chief of the Position Classification and Staff Development Section at HRDO, served as the resource person for the learning activity.

Amatorio kicked off the workshop with an in-depth discussion on the three SPMS tools currently used by UPLB, namely: Agency Performance Commitment and Review (APCR), Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR), and Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR).

He also led a discussion on developing the rating matrices for IPCR and OPCR, which was followed by a workshop on the IPCR and OPCR of each OVCCA-supervised unit.

HRDO Director Atty. Eric Paul D. Peralta concluded the seminar-workshop with his closing remarks, in hopes of providing a better understanding of SPMS’ significance.

The seminar-workshop was held in preparation for the submission of OPCR and IPCR targets and ratings this July. (Roi Mojado)
