CHE implements onboarding process for new personnel to strengthen its workforce

The College of Human Ecology (CHE) held the first of a series of Academic and Administrative Onboarding Seminars (AAOS) on March 25, 2025, at the CHE Multi-purpose Hall (MPH) to orient new academic and administrative staff to the university and college’s policies, programs, and innovative systems.

The UPLB Institute of Plant Breeding (IPB) proudly presented its new hibiscus variety, the Hibiscus rosa-sinensis ‘Filomena Fortich-Campos,’ named in honor of the late Academician Filomena Fortich-Campos, on April 4, 2025, at the IPB Seminar Room.

CHE goes beyond purple as it celebrates National Women’s Month

Purple is an internationally recognized color that represents women and gender. According to International Women’s Day, ‘purple signifies justice and dignity, and being loyal to the cause.’ 

For 2025, CHE joined the National Women’s Month celebration, going beyond wearing purple and launching gender responsiveness and mainstreaming initiatives under the CHE 5Ps for Gender Empowerment Program.
