SSO conducts boardgame workshop on disaster preparedness with UPLB Pahinungód

The Security and Safety Office (SSO) of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs conducted a gamified workshop on disaster preparedness on Sept. 27 for the staff and volunteers of UPLB Ugnayan ng Pahinungód.

The workshop began with a briefing by the board game developer, Special Police Assistant Chief Jonathan Maliwat, who familiarized the participants with the ‘UPLB READY’ program and the mechanics of the board game.

The participants were divided into two groups with Security Officer II Grizelda Marza and Special Police Lieutenant Kristine Bernadette T. Matalog as game masters.

Each group had four (4) players who assumed the role of incident commander. The objective is to give the participants the ability to manage an incident team in an earthquake and landslide scenario.

SSO is an office under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs. It is headed by lawyer Eric Paul D. Peralta as director. Also in attendance was the director of Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Jose Limbay Lahi O. Espaldon. (Grizelda Penales-Marza)
