UPLB’s security force undergoes gov’t guard training

As part of its professionalization, the University Police Force (UPF) held a series of seminars on 22-24 April 2019 for its personnel for their accreditation as government security guards, as required by RA 5487 (The Private Security Agency Law)

UPF security officers and guards, as well as the newly hired special police of the University’s land grants attended the seminar, which required them to undergo mandatory drug testing, a neuropsychological test, and intensive training on security skills.

For the drug test, all the security personnel of UPLB tested negative.

All the proposed modernization and professionalization programs of OVCCA for the UPF have been supported by UPLB Chancellor Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr. and approved by UP President Danilo L. Concepcion.

Spearheading many of the modernization and professionalization efforts is Asst. Vice Chancellor Roberto G. Visco and UPF Chief SOIV Ricardo T. Silab, supported by the UPF team, namely: SOII Rizal C. Huelgas (Chief of Administration), SOII Reigel Allan S. Sorra (Chief of Investigation), and SOIII Efren Delos Reyes (Chief of Operations) (Miguel Victor T. Durian & Serlie Barroga-Jamias)
