SSO joins disaster resilience program for fisherfolk

The Security and Safety Office (SSO) of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs collaborated with the UP Society of Human Settlement Planners to conduct the seminar, PLANO RAW?: Enhancing Community Resilience Through Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Awareness and Promoting Food Security in Brgy. Mayondon, Los Baños on Oct. 17.

Twenty-Five residents of Brgy. Mayondon, including members of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Council and fisherfolk, attended the program.

Special Police Assistant Chief Jonathan Maliwat, chief of the Crisis and Emergency Response Unit of SSO, was the invited resource speaker. He discussed about Kalamidad, Seguridad, at Pagpaplano (KSP). His presentation aimed to teach the fisherfolk community about DRRM. (Kristine Bernadette Maligalig)
